Missing Antenna Connector?

Hey everyone

I got my iSimple Bluetooth FM Modulator today and the Subaru antenna adapters.

I got the head unit / AC removed, but I don't see anywhere on the back of the head unit to plug the antenna into? I think the OEM connector may have been removed / altered when someone installed a JVC CD Changer (installed before I got the car, and I will remove eventually).

Here is what the back of my head unit looks like (single disc unit):

I *think* the black wire pigtailed out of the unit, in the lower right corner is the antenna wire. I had to cut the wire to pull the stereo out (it was hard soldered to the car wire, see pics below). The black wire has a center wire, surrounded by insulation, and more conductive wires around the first layer of insulation.

This is what the wire that is soldered into my car looks like:

It looks like the installer took the interior of the wire and soldered it to the inside of the exposed metal connector. Some of the outer wires from the car "antenna wire" are then soldered to a piece of wire to lengthen and then the lengthened wire is soldered to the outside of the metal connector.

Needless to say, this doesn't look good and probably explains the shitty radio reception I have been getting.

Is there an OEM male and female plug I could buy (to return the pigtail out of the unit and the wire in the car back to stock connections)?

I need to figure out how to connect the wires up (both bare connections now).

Any input would be awesome.

Thanks again

John
