I'm getting ready to purchase an exhaust system for my car but I'm having trouble deciding. The guy down at my local store says the Evo2 will produce more power than the SP2 and will be slightly louder. My concern is would the Evo2 be too loud for a long trip? Snowboarding season is coming up so I'll probably be taking allot of weekend trips up to VT (5hrs). Can anyone that owns any of the two comment? SportCompactOnly.com has the best price with their rebates till the end of September..$742.97 after rebate and before shipping. I should have it within the next week or so and I plan on posting pics and vids. Cant really comment on highway drone, but from what i have read, its not that big of an issue. My reccomendation is that you cant go wrong with this exhaust. almondcookie Posted September 23, 2005 Share Posted September 23, 2005 i have a custom magnaflow catback and after the up pipe, it got louder. now it sounds like a mildly modified wrx. a little harsher and not so much sleeper anymore. =/. (most of the STI owners i know have the Titanium exhaust and that's too loud for me) i have no plans for a downpipe so someone else has to chime in for that. froggert Posted September 23, 2005 Share Posted September 23, 2005 i've got an sp2 on my wagon and think it's the perfect sound level at idle and cruise. a little louder at wot would be nice, but i still like the system and don't regret the purchase. i think that exhaust sounds quality and level is almost totally subjective. the catback on my mini cooper s imo sounded great. other people that rode in it couldn't stand it and thought it was way too loud. ymmv.
