bjkroll
Hey guys, So I noticed a difference in ignition coils on the earlier 2.5L NA ignition coil vs. the later versions. Specifically, they use a DIN connector attached to the coil itself, and the mating connection for the plugs are female. Do they produce a different spark? Is the only difference the type of connection? I'm curious if I could get away with splitting the cable and attaching the later version of ignition coil, along with the matching wires. The reason being is I feel the ignition coil is starting to fail. During very humid conditions, I get a misfire on cyl. 3. I have a spare ignition coil that I wanted to try, but its the later model. twisty
the MSD coil upgrade is from a early 2000s dodge neon and it works well. this one is a subaru part for a newer gen engine of the same family, im betting if you can make it fit, it will work.
