Legacy_Guy
Hey LegacyGT.com I picked this little beauty up about 11 months ago, the price was right and the mileage was low at 104,500kms(64,900miles) so I couldn't pass it up. I've always been a fan of the Legacy and also have a white BD that I've owned for the last 11 years which was boosted and had meth injection(since returned to stock). The previous owner babied this car and the only performance mods he did were a stage1 flash, Invidia catback and a COBB BPV. It didn't take long before I started ordering parts. I was satisfied with the power and how the car handles but got used to it rather quick. I've got a few more things to add power wise then I'll be switching my focus and adding some cosmetic parts to the exterior and engine bay. Stay tuned for updates:ritz: Sorry for the crappy pics, I'll have better ones up soon! http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/11181775_10155595662630015_1973984007015551845_n_zpslw4lemdu.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/11351333_10155595662835015_4935956910301232996_n_zpsxv8yvmtj.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/11351333_10155595662835015_4935956910301232996_n_zpsxv8yvmtj.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/10301352_10155595662755015_901913694022329372_n_zpsq0chysdb.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/The%20wip/photo%203_zps2dxnfx2l.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/IMG_0047_zpsbwmk44z5.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/specb_zps9473f92d.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/groupshot_zps6b510e02.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%205_zpsvrq6i97s.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%204_zpsfikqg8ff.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/specb2_zps44f39e66.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo1_zpsf54a3eb6.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/engine%202_zpspfnet3uy.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/13754142_10157165420665015_5312300112424927710_n_zpsxiedtg8z.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/13729057_10157200422300015_7175847996481733311_n_zps7iws1ufd.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/BT%20EVOIII%2016G%20comp%20tune_zpst0rydzur.jpg Engine: • COBB LWCP • Bren Tuning Stage 3 E-tune • Killer B Motorsport Oil Baffle Windage Tray • Killer B Motorsport pick up tube • STI 1.3bar Rad Cap x2 • COBB AccessPort V2 • JDM Battery & Power Steering Covers • Grimmpseed Master Cylinder Sock • Cusco Rad Shroud • Group A magnetic drain plug Intake/Exhaust/Fuel: • BNR EvoIII 16G • IAG braided oil feed line • COBB 725cc injectors • AVO TMIC • AVO Turbo Inlet • GrimmSpeed Downpipe • Grimmspeed crosspipe • Samco BPV hose • Grimmspeed CAI • Invidia Q300 CatBack Exhaust • COBB BPV • PTP Turbo Blanket • Mishimoto Throttle Body Hose • DW 65C Pump • Grimmspeed EBC Drivetrain/Transmission: • Kartboy Short Shifter • Kartboy Front Shifter Bushings • Group N Tranny Mount • Group N Pitch Stop Mount • Group N Motor mounts • Whiteline Gearbox Positive Shift Kit • Whiteline Rear Diff Positive kit • Whiteline Rear Differential Positive Power Front Kit Suspension/Wheels: • STI Pink Springs F-ST2033021010 R-ST2038021010 • Whiteline 20mm Rear Sway Bar • Cusco 23mm Front Sway Bar • AVO RSB brackets • Cusco Front Endlinks • Cusco Front Strut Bar • Powerslot Rotors Front/Rear • Stoptech Pads Front/Rear • Goodridge Stainless Steel Break Lines Front/Rear Wheels and Tires: • Summer -Stock Spec.B rims with Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R 215/45/18 • Winter - Sport Edition rims with General Altimax 215/45/17 Interior/Electronics: • 32% Tint • Innovate Motorsports LC-1 • Innovate Motorsports MTX-D Boost Gauge Exterior: • RRev Carbon fiber grill • Rally Armor mud flaps • BAysonR front lip Awaiting install: • Gates timing belt kit • Launsport JDM pink rear badge • STI port/polish exhaust manifolds • Koyo radiator • Samco radiator hoses • Tomie timing belt guide • IAG radiator stays • Redline hood struts 2017 Plans: • RRev carbon fiber hood scoop • IAG AOS • Coolinmist meth injection kit
08Legacy-GT
nice, thanks for sharing! , I suggest looking at JP Carbon for a carbon front grill, same quality cheaper price I think compared to rrev. They usually are expensive. 2017 Subaru STI 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i limited

HDZ32
Are you happy with your Cobb LWCP? did you have to change any of your other pulleys or does the car run okay with just the stock ones?
Legacy_Guy
I've very happy with it. I used this LWCP on my '99 for 7 years before I swapped it onto this car. It runs perfectly fine and you don't need to change any other pulleys or belt to make this work, it's a worth while upgrade for sure! http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo4_zps3d25a87a.jpg

Thank you! Beautifulllll. I subscribed and will sit with popcorn and watch this thread like a hawk to see what you do to make that pretty thing even prettier.. have fun! Thanks. I'll be ordering some parts of the parts on my list in the next weeks or so, stay tuned! Let me know what you think! I checked them out and they are much cheaper then RRev. I tried searching but was unable to find any reviews on the grille and how the fitment was. For the price they're asking, I'll take the gamble. Legacy_Guy
Just a quick update folks. First round of parts have come in. I received my Cusco strut bar, front sway bar, front endlinks and STI rad cap. The strut bar was super easy to put on, didn't even have to jack the car up to install it. The sway bar will be installed after I finish work today! I'll be placing another order for my STI springs and Cusco rad shroud. I've done all the reading I can to make sure I'll be ordering the proper springs for my car and have come up with Front-ST2033021010 Rear-ST2038021010 for an even drop. Are these the right part #'s? I found this pic and had the part#'s I'm looking to order so I believe I'm correct. Still waiting to find an good condition used AVO intercooler to purchase! More mods to come so stay tuned! On my '08 Spec.B, i'm using ST2033021010 for the front and ST2038021010 rear. jardev
If you end up getting rid of the stock air box and snorkel let me know. I'll for sure take them off your hand. Also some of the plastic covers for the engine bay I would not mind. [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Legacy_Guy
Quick update. My STI Pinks finally arrived along with my Whiteline rear diff positive kit, Grimmspeed master cylinder cover and Company 23 cam lock tool. The Cusco radiator shroud and AVO intercooler both arrived and have been installed. The fitment of the intercooler is alright but I needed to trim the engine cover to make it work. Also the TB hose seems to be to short so I ended up ordering a Mishimoto TB hose. The springs will be going on this weekend and I can't wait!!! http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%201_zpso2lvcxvc.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/P%20springs_zpscoja8ep1.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%202_zpscofdrcvm.jpg [/url]http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/avos_zpsy876yg8r.jpghttp://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/Cusco_zpsseplumxb.jpg
Legacy_Guy
Well it was a pretty eventful weekend. Installed the springs as planned, everything went off without a hitch. Just a tip for anyone attempting to do this, definitely use air tools as it makes thing so much easier! I'm very impressed how these spring have changed the car so far. I have an autoX in 2 weeks and I can't wait to really test these out. http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%202_zpscdfxjjbb.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%201_zps93idvgg0.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%203_zpsfbyy43ll.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%204_zps41stqvql.jpg This pic is kind of terrible, will take a better one after it's cleaned up http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/sdfgsdfgs_zpsznzlnpkx.jpg

Legacy_Guy
Well I decided to bite the bullet last night and replace the TB hose with the Mishimoto hose I ordered. I read online that this was going to be a pain in the butt to install but it actually went in rather easy, the hardest part was getting the TB hose clamp off. The clamp was positioned in such a way that you couldn't even get a screwdriver/socket on it, I just ended up gently prying the hose off with the clamp still attached. Total install time was just less then 1 hours from start to finish. I'm not sure if this hose will actually do anything other then look good BUT it is smother then the OEM piece so that has to count for something. I'll be getting re-tuned since my car didn't have the airfilter, maf hose, intercooler or TB hose installed , hopefully it will make more power then before! http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/tb%20hose_zpsdlhfxizw.jpg
Legacy_Guy
Well the first round of my winter mods have arrived. Next order will be the turbo, injectors and fuel pump! I've read a lot of good things about the BRN16G so I'm pretty excited to put one on. Tires and cosmetic mods will happen in the spring. http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%202_zpsaphjocez.jpg

Legacy_Guy
Nice car! I'm looking forward to meeting some Legacy owners around here at some point. Where are you going for your tune? Hey, thanks! Yeah it'll be nice to meet another legacy owner. I only know 2 others in Winnpeg, I'm kind of the odd man out at car meets . Mostly likely it will be another E-tune but I am also contemplating driving to Red Deer or Minneapolis to get an actual dyno tune.
Legacy_Guy
Small update: Grimmspeed crosspipe and AVO brackets are now installed. The GS pipe is a very very nice piece! I'm going to have to buy some 2xthick gaskets because there seems to be a very small leak that just wont seal with the standard gaskets they supply, I tried multiple times to fix the leak but nothing seemed to work. I took the car for a drive right after the install and it did feel like I had a bit more torque but I'm going to do some datalogging in the next few days and see what the data and Virtual dyno show. As for the AVO brackets, pretty simple install. Not sure if I noticed any difference to be honest but they are a heck of a lot stronger then the factory mounts so at least I have piece of mind now. I was able to finally install the Whiteline bushing, those bolts were severly rusted! After a little time with a grinder they finally came off, the actual install went smooth. It only took maybe 10 mins to complete the install, I used new grade8 hardware. The Killer B items will be done sometime in December when I do my next oil change. http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo_zpswo3ookfw.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/gs1_zpsnxpft9rf.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/gs2_zpsysxjxy8s.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/gs3_zpsfq4z9ngu.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%201_zpssqgxd9su.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo%202_zpsx2mv3ons.jpg
Legacy_Guy
Installed this little beauty over the weekend. The removal of the factory pipe was actually quite easy and came out in 1 piece. To be honest even the install of the new inlet was easy. The hardest part was getting the lines on the fittings since they are almost too big for the lines and attaching the BPV line. One thing to note for anyone who decides to attempt this, you will need to purchase a 90* 1/2 barb to connect one of the lines to the crank case breather as AVO does not supply one. I also discovered that you need a special joiner to connect the AVO inlet to the AVO after maf, had to use the stocker for now. At this time I can't really report on any gains(hp or spool) as the roads are way to slick to be doing highway pulls but I do like that I can hear the turbo spool a little better, I'll get logs when I can. The quality of this piece is top notch and I would highly recommend this inlet for anyone looking to upgrade. http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/Avo%20inlet_zps2mfjem2d.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/Avo%20inlet%202_zpskznykry8.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/8_zpst9zixcmk.jpg http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww176/subydude1983/photo_zpsujzuoksi.jpg
