08qsm Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I'd prefer to use the stock SAT button on my radio instead of having a satellite radio unit hanging the dash somewhere. I did some research and found the part number for the Clarion unit (Clarion H621SXA120 Model EF-1247U) and was able to find one for sale but out of a 2010. Going against my better judgement I bought it anyway assuming I'd be able to get everything else needed to make it work. However I believe there may be a thing or two that you just do not come across on their own. For instance, the wiring harness to connect the Clarion unit to my OEM head unit. Or the bracket to mount the Clarion unit to my radio. You can see most of the parts in the pic below http://i.snag.gy/Ys3l4.jpg Attached is what my Clarion unit + mounting brackets look like. Does anybody know how necessary the brackets are? Like what would be underneath of the headunit requiring this to be mounted? Surely this won't fall through the floor and out from underneath my car, but if it's just a matter of not having something floating around making noise then I'm sure we can rig something up? Never been behind the head unit so I apologize in advance for the assumptions if they are crazy dumb As for the cable? Anybody know where I can get one of these? I can't imagine it's impossible to find. Maybe this cable from Amazon and splice two of them together?
