Running great, but curious about lock nuts not being equal

I've traveled somewhere over 700 miles on my Bilstein HDs and Swifts combo and I gotta say I love this setup. Firm, confident, and fun with all the time, but very compliant with bumps.

Though, I have one question as shown in the pictures. I've had two shops check this out and they say I'm okay and everything is torqued to proper specs. I thought about asking here anyways. The front passenger lock nut looks pretty normal, but the front driver's side lock nut only has one thread exposed above the nylon lock. I'm keeping watch over it (I sharpie marked it to make it easier) and everything is good, but I'm still curious about it.

Has anyone else come across something like this?
