MrTris
You mean as far as custom curved shields? There's a how-to somewhere on hidplanet on making them, I'll see if I can find. They take a lot of time to do right, sometimes hours of tweaking to get the right output. I'm doing custom curved shields on AFS RX330s and it took a while to get the output right, but they're suuuuper wide and pretty bright....was definitely worth the work. As far as painting shields, I would suggest high temperature paint as they will get hot (enough to burn you) due to the focused heat from the hid bulbs, especially at the center of the shield. I'm painting the chrome on the housings, and maybe the shroud, too, not the shield -- what's the point? You can't see it. Does painting the shield net some kind of color output? RJ255
Oops sorry, I misunderstood. Black chrome is an awesome look, but there are no re-dos so make sure you do it right the first time! Painting shields is purely aesthetic, black for a darker look, colors (red, blue, orange, etc) to give a passive "demon eye" look when the lights are on
300zx2g35
The top picture looks like the mount holes are the same for the oem projectors. What are the dimensions? Between top 2 is 1.3" Between bottom 2 is 1.575" vertical distance is 3.9" and your bracket looks very similar to mine actually I'd say that's about right. I think RJ255 is correct in that the biggest difference being that the bracket is metal. Also from looking at your pics, it looks as though the highbeam bowl is integrated into the bracket vs being removable on the 08-09s.
RJ255
Yeah that last part is true, the high beam is part of the bracket in 05-07s.

Would be much easier to mount a quad projector. Oh well. My bracket will serve the same purpose. Would be nice if mine was metal too instead of whatever mine is. It's not plastic. It's like a solidified powder/fiberglass dealio. Odd material.

Streetlegal
Got some more done on these finally. Been at a standstill trying to figure out how to make the damn projector fit and still retain strength in the mounting bracket After a bit of trimming and finagling I got it to fit http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Mobile%20Uploads/20150430_193026_zpsrfrwxlhe.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Mobile%20Uploads/20150430_193019_zpsypyqyxyy.jpg This is with the clear lens and no spacing or tuning. The ballast is the stock ballast with a 5000k D2S bulb from TRS that I had laying around from one of my older cars http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Mobile%20Uploads/20150430_193208_HDR_zpsy2fro1s5.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Mobile%20Uploads/20150430_193217_zpscoydll6w.jpg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Mobile%20Uploads/20150430_193617_zpsav8mioza.jpg It actually doesn't sit much farther forward than the stock projectors. Now that I have that projector mounting figured out, I have another projector that is on the way to try and make that fit. Once I have all that done I can finalize the bracket design and have them waterjet

Streetlegal
Sorry guys. As some of you have seen I have been somewhat pre-occupied by the totaling of my car However I wanted to finish these up anyways. Turns out there is local guy wanting to buy them too when I finish. I got my brackets finalized and back from waterjet the other day. I couldn't resist assembling them to see what they would look like Here's a few pictures. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Subaru/received_10153806474440712_zpskvuj8z0w.jpeg http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/ab114/gearhead_18/Subaru/received_10153806495890712_zpsewsymkis.jpeg Now that I got them to mount the way I want I can trim the projector housings themselves a bit then I have to figure out what to do about shrouds.
