kurtis9813
Temp gauge on 98 legacy outback doesnt move at all. When I plug in my scan gauge to the obd I get good coolant temp readings. Also replaced the gauge itself inside the cluster but still nothing.
SoSubiZ
I've never checked a gauge out but theres probably a power signal and ground for it in some random assortment of wires. Or try changing the sensor. On some g37's Air temp sensors were a common issue. they would be stuck a random reading like 35 degrees even when its 80 outside. just a thought. johnegg
there are 2 temp sensors. the 2 wire unit sends info to the computer. the 1 wire unit sends info to the gauge. if the gauge is not working, it could be the sensor, the wire or the gauge. check to see if the sensor is plugged into the wire harness. it is located in the cross over pipe under the intake manifold on the passenger side. follow the top radiator hose back.
