AZZMAN Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Quick background. I am the original owner of 95/500 2006 Spec B with about 60k miles. After I "broke" my 5th gear for the past four years the car has only been driven every ofter month. 3/4 of a tank of gas has been used... This is not an engine rebuild and rather than post in the individual part sub-forums I thought this would be a good place to start. I am looking for your opinions on the equipment I have choose to purchase and any future thoughts if we get "stuck"... but I'm replacing brakes, suspension, rebuilding the trans of course, clutch, flywheel. The car has a tune with cobb intake and cobb exhaust. Nothing else has been done. Engine compression is fine. Other than an oil change or brake pad swap that's as far as I have ever gone. My friend used to race BMW's and worked a pit crew where he has rebuilt transmissions and engines in a matter of hours... He is currently a BMW mechanic. He has volunteered his tools and expertise. I supply the garage man cave and occasional adult beverage. Here's the parts I am considering: http://www.carid.com/2006-subaru-wrx-brakes/brembo-gt-series-1-piece-slotted-brake-kit-45052919.html http://www.carid.com/2006-subaru-legacy-suspension-systems/ksport-gt-pro-coilover-kit-14873584.html ACT Clutch Kit - HD / Perf Street Sprung - 9 in. / 228mm Diameter - 1 in. Spline Size - 24 Spline Count - Weight 14.5lbs. - 420 Torque Capacity - 32 Percent Torque Increase; ACT Flywheel - XACT Streetlite - SFI Number 1.1 - Weight 13.7lbs; http://www.turbokits.com/Subaru/Legacy_GT/Turbo_Upgrades/IHI_VF52_Turbocharger/697/ He says we can look and see the condition of the turbo and replace perhaps... https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+RE-71R&partnum=145WR8RE71RXL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Subaru&autoYear=2006&autoModel=Legacy%20Sedan%202.5%20GT&autoModClar=Spec%20B Think I will try these Summer tires too. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments on getting these parts or similar ones cheeper? Here is where she has sat for most of the last four years...
