kurtis9813
So what's the deal with that security light on the left side of the gauge cluster next to the cruise switch. I noticed the wires to it were cut on a 98 GT and a 99 OB I used to own. I just clipped the wires to be able to remove the cluster bezel because I'm doing a heater core on a 98 OB. Is it ok to just leave these wires clipped or do I have to disable it a different way? Not looking to hook it back up, just want to know if it's going to set off any alarms the way it is. BTW battery is currently disconnected.
johnegg
the red indicator light is also a button, to activate ''valet mode'' for the alarm. valet mode lets some one park / lock / unlock / start the car with out setting off the alarm. i have never used it. but if you give the parking attendant your key fob / remote, they COULD program other remotes to operate. also, the alarm will not sound if armed with the remote but unlocked with the key. i do not know what you should do.
