Sunroof Controller fix

Hi all

 

Had the sunroof out to fix the water leak issue.

So while at it I had a go at the controller.

 

I had problems with the sunroof working intermittently and having to bang on the roof (at the back) to get it to work sometimes.

After a lot of mucking about with replacing relays etc I found it was the two "chips" (for use of a better word) had bad contacts on some of the pins. These "chips" can move and vibrate.

Once I re-soldered the "chips" I then hot glued them together and to the board so they could not move.

Tested out well, can be knocked moved etc and the sunroof still works.

Bit Blury!! the ones all in a row are the faulty connections.

BTW the I did put "remote" relays in to test the system(had some regular SPDT relays) because I thought it was the relays. Have put back in the original ones.

 

Lucky for me the car has not been required and have had it all in pieces in the shed for weeks.

Have re-glued headlining material back and put it all back together.

Its been a few weeks now and it still working fine.
