rrobe99999
I am looking for some advice on how to fix my car. I believe there is a fuel problem. I got code P0442 twice within a few days. Each time I remove and replace gas cap, reset ECU, and it goes away. Thinking I may need a new gas cap but haven't replaced it yet. Car still ran fine. But today the car would not start. I start troulbeshooting at the fuel pump. I do not hear it working when I turn on the key. I remove the connector at the pump and I've got 10.5V at pins 5 and 6, when I trun the key which should be good. According to FSM, I need a new fuel pump. Then I connect another 12V source to the pump just to make sure, and I can hear it working. Car still won't start though and throws code P0183 for high fuel temp. I figure this is because I have 4 other pins disconnected at the pump for my test set up with extra 12V source. What should I check next?
06leg315
That's an Evap code and will not cause the car to not start.
