hawkm
[/b][/b]I bought a 90 subaru legacy l and it was running on 3 cylinders. I found a fuel injector bad and the guy I got the car from had said that he drove this car this way the whole time he had the car who know how long. I replaced the injector and the car started to knock pretty bad. I've heard a lot of lifters tick before and this does NOT sound like a lifter. More like a connecting rod. Could you give me any ideas on possibilities here?
hawkm
I'm sorry after putting the new injector (junk yard) The motor turned over but then stopped as if it was locked up. I pulled the junk yard injector back out and put the old injector back in. One I turned it over it started and now we have a knock. Did I ruin this thing
USLiberty
You can use a long screwdriver held up to your ear as a stethoscope. you can almost pinpoint the noise from under the car. Definitely easy to tell if it's the block or the heads.
