SSpeed
I have rust above my windshield at the drip seal. I'm told the rust either has to get fixed (or roof replaced) before insurance would cover a new windshield. I'm not finding any body shops that will touch rust. They all say it will come back. I'm getting told replacing the roof is my only option. I stopped at 3 body shops today to inquire and got consistent info at each place. Does anyone know a shop that will fix rust? SSpeed
Here's the rust for reference... http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k62/dil222/20150221_081955.jpg If nothing else I'm going to have to find someone to pull the windshield, then I'll sand it down, coat it with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator, have the windshield replaced, and then paint fixed. Subakook
I'm having the same issue on my XT. What did you end up doing with it?
SSpeed
I got a rust grinding wheel from Harbor Freight, Eastwood Rust Encapsulator (POR-15 product) and matching 3-coat factory aerosol paint from Paintscratch.com. I guess the problem happens when someone replaced a windshield and doesn't prime any scratches. Definitely do something about it sooner rather than later. I couldn't get any shops to touch it.
