KingColin08
Hi all, I'm a total car noob and brand new to this forum, so please don't use too many big word with me. My '99 Legacy Outback has the issue where the headlights don't project very far, maybe only about 40 yards with the high beams on. The low beams are practically useless, besides making my car visible to others. I do a lot of driving on dark, windy, country roads and it is pretty frustrating, not to mention unsafe, to have such a short viewing distance. The bulbs are fairly new, and when I replaced them the brightness certainly increased but the distance did not. What steps should I take to make the high beams light up the night? MrTris
Have you cleaned your headlights lately, such as with 3M Headlight Restoration Kit? That will usually help with allowing light to escape the housings properly. Are your headlights properly aligned? Other than that, you may be needing to invest in some actual driving lights, ala Rally-style lights and a lightbar mounted up front. Do you have some pictures of your front-end, as-is, that we could see?
