Hately
Hi guys, I am having some trouble with my '96 Subaru Legacy driver side lock. I've owned the car for about 2 years now and have never had to use the driver side lock due to having an immobiliser that locks the car. However due to recent fuel pump/immobiliser issues.. The immobiliser had to be cut and now I need to use the central locking. So I tried to turn the drivers side lock but it wont budge, however when I use the key in the passenger side door it turns and unlocks perfectly. This is the same for the boot lock as well. I've already tried the trusty WD-40 but it didnt work. Does this sound like the locks been replaced and the key just doesnt fit properly or something else maybe? Also would it be best to get a locksmith to have a gander first before trying to replace the locks? Thank you for your help.
johnegg
i would remove the door panel and check the linkage before anything else. what happens when you lock the door from the inside at the door open handle?
dwiniarz
If its the actual lock swap it with the one on the other side
Hately
i would remove the door panel and check the linkage before anything else. what happens when you lock the door from the inside at the door open handle? When i switch the lock switch from the inside it locks properly and engages the central locking also. But yeah was thinking taking the panel off and having a look would help. Thanks!
