Is a bigger turbo recommended to get the full effect of the TMIC mod? (Congrats!!! Is this your 1st?) Jay Jay

I wouldn't want to try the 20G on a stock TMIC. Actually, even an upgraded TMIC will probably be put at the limit by a good tune on a 20G. An FMIC would be more efficient, but more of a hassle than I'm willing to put up with.

Actually, the PDX stage 1.5T with 18G looks pretty good to me - +10tq/30hp over the VF40 on same parts. Should still be quiet with stock catback and within the limits of the stock fueling system. Beyond that mod point, the $/hp ratio starts getting high quickly.

1.5T VF40 - 254 whp, 275 wtq

1.5T FP18G - 282 whp, 281 wtq

stock catback, stock fuel system, upgraded TMIC, HFC downpipe, catless uppipe

I'd guess full turboback would get you pretty close to 300 whp, but might need fuel upgrades.

Well, I think you could push 300, or a little over if you went with fuel upgrades later.

 

That's about all I'm shooting for, is close to, or a little over 300awhp. That should get me well into the 12s. (assuming I can drive it that fast ;))
