bochuck Posted January 14, 2015 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Got into my 05 LGT today and car wouldn't start the first try. Drove it about 8 or so mile down the road and the car lost all power going uphill and started making a rattle noise. Sounded like grinding while at highway speed. Got out at my destination a few mile down the road. Checked all fluids. No burn smells on either oil or trans fluid. Car cooled down for 30-40 minutes. Had someone follow me home. On the way home same deal. No power up hill. Rattle/grind noise intermittent. Worse with higher rev, but made the noise while sitting still which crosses the diffs of my list. Engine revved high for long periods before shifting. Noise comes from below the TMIC area. Sounds like the cat died on my downpipe. Anyone have any insight they could share?
