Two-Five Sti-L
Just want to see whether you guys think theft of the Legacy's will become a problem, like the WRX/STi's? Esp. in the NE? The WRX/STi's didn't have the immobilizer keys correct? Also, what are you guys' opinions of the "upgraded" factory alarm?
Deer Killer
Can't be as bad as an S4 :) I haven't looked into the immobilizer but it seems more of a gimmick than anything else.. Is the recognition fully integrated into the ECU? Thieves can always just have a spare ecu as well :)
eamiller
I have to disagree about the "gimmick" factor of the immobilizer. For someone wanting to steal the car (excluding towing it) it's probably the most effective anti-theft system because it is designed into the vehicle. It's not an add-on box that can be bypassed. I'm sure it *possible* for someone to switch in a new ECU that has the codes that match the keys they carry around, but most theives want to steal the car quickly. Besides, that's some pretty specific targeting, so not very likely. About the only thing I would consider adding to the factory alarm system (besides the shock sensor) is a vehicle recovery system like the Boomerang.
