Dry dipstick and a little blue smoke

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

This is for my GF's Santa Fe.

I started the car yesterday and some blue smoke came out of it. Turned the car off quickly and checked the dipstick....which was bone dry.

What do you guys recommend as the first step? I was thinking drain the remaining oil/change the filter. That way I can see if there are metal flakes in the oil/filter.

Any advice is appreciated.

Patrick

Crash it in to a tree, claim insurance, buy a car that does not suck.

yes, change oil and keep a close eye on the dipstick over the next OCI. if you keep seeing blue smoke, you have an engine oil leak and you should bring it in for a professional opinion. Odds are you still may have to hit that tree,
