serkan Posted October 5, 2014 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Hi there, I did a compression test on a 2.5i ej253 engine due to Misfires in cylinders 1,2,3. Cylinder 1 - 130 psi Cylinder 2- 170 psi Cylinder 3- 160 psi Cylinder 4- 170 psi The spark plug in cylinder 1 had lot of carbon build up (new plug) So started doing leakdown test on cylinder 1 and this is what I get. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru2pIEsFrP0&feature=youtu.be As you can see, I start raising the pressure slowly. The second gauge does not catch up to the first gauge until it is raised to 40 psi. At maximum 100 psi there is only 3% leak. But compression failed.
