jazzymt
Congrats on the read...it's not something I've recently tried, but I remember when I read up on the 24 pages of Centerpunch's thread and that was quite the chore! As far as the "Pro Kit", I don't have GLI's in hand yet, so I haven't created any new purchase options since you'd immediately be on backorder (for at least a week, maybe 2 or 3). I'll create the link for an "Installer Kit" tonight though since I do have cables in stock. If you'd prefer to wait until I have GLI's in stock and get the whole bundle in one shot, I can email you an invoice, just PM me your email address. Otherwise, you can probably pick up a GLI with RCA cables and a few adapters at Radio Shack as soon as you want. I think one person has attempted the install with factory Nav, at least I remember someone else asking and I think they gave it a try...if they did, they never posted back here on the forum. So...I can't say for sure either way. I know there hasn't been any confirmed "complications" or "failures" with Nav...not that it's much of an endorsement, but I don't expect any issues with a Nav OEM unit. I hope that helps some. Thanks for your interest. I'll get the Installer Link up asap. Boulderguy
Hey Jazzy - What are your thoughts on producing a modified version of your board, one that does the opposite - produces a clean line-level output from the CD? If that's interesting, you could go one step farther & incorporate a seperate volume knob & input selector and basically eliminate the need for a Clean Sweep. For my purposes tho, I could use just the line out as I've got a pre-amp in my system already. If you wouldn't want to produce that type of board, is it possible that I could modify your existing board for that purpose?
jazzymt
Well, actually...you can use the board as is to give you a clean line-out for the CD, it just won't give you anything for the radio (AM/FM). The only way to access the radio line levels is via soldering extra jumper wires, which could be done, but I'm not sure if you're willing to go to that extent to avoid using something like the Cleansweep. Boulderguy
Oh, so the existing board with it's piggyback setup could just as easily be a line out too - hadn't thought of it that way. I don't need a CS, just throwing the idea out for you. So how does one order? Disregard - I see the links.
jazzymt
Oh, so the existing board with it's piggyback setup could just as easily be a line out too -Yea...but...ONLY for the CD audio. It will not do give you anything for the radio line levels. PolarDog
Thanks Jazzy! I saw the links for the Crutchfield part and since it looks reasonably uncomplicated, I ordered the installer kit just today. I'm looking forward to ripping apart my dash! BTW, my wife now wants me to investigate a solution for her Toyota Sienna, so I guess I have more work to do! Thanks again! PolarDog

PolarDogUm...the "Installer Kit" only adds a 6' Gold Plated stereo patch cable, not the GLI. I don't have any GLI's in hand yet, or I would have an option up for that too, but that will add another $25 to the price... if you'd like to change your order just send me a PM. Pedestrian
Quick question Jazzy, I installed mine, and everything works like a charm. But when I am listening to it while I have the ipod plugged in to the cigarette power adapter, I am getting a high pitch interference that changes pitch with my rpms. It almosts sounds like a baby supercharger, so I am not complaining too much right now , but I am just curious to what it may be.
wayoutwest
You probably need a ground loop isolator. Did you read this thread?

It's caused by small currents running through the ground of your iPod to the radio. The most effective way to eliminate it is to install a ground loop isolator. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-OH3qaMU6PwZ/cgi-bin/prodgroup.asp?g=181150&est=&search=ground+loop http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062214&cp ~edit~ jeez, you guys are fast... SnarlyMarley
Installed! Took 1.5 hrs removing the stereo in a dark driveway and installing the board on the kitchen table. I got more scratches than I wanted be careful of the painted plastic parts to the stereo! I got light scratches on the volume knob just from working on it in the kitchen. The sound quality is excellent. I bought an FM modulator and retuned it the next day. Too many stations in my area so that I had to change stations each town! Rediculous. The Jazzy board is cheaper too. Two suggestions: If I had the optio to use longer ribbon cables and have the board not sandwiched between the changer and radio I would feel more confident in terms of risks of rattles / melting / shorting. Second how about a poll to see how may people have done this mod or a comment from jazzy on the most recent quarterly sales features? A great well made product that works seamlessly and should have come stock! James
jazzymt
Second how about a poll to see how may people have done this mod or a comment from jazzy on the most recent quarterly sales features?Heh...well, there's around 275 installs so far...it has slowed down quite a bit lately. Hopefully there's plenty more to come and it's just a lull.
