frapjap
After the debacles here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/help-engine-wont-start-after-head-gasket-job-er-hc-228686.html and here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/no-cel-no-start-condition-229070.html I broke down and took the car to the dealer. The ECU was fried. Don't know how, don't know why. They replaced it along with some starter relay and a couple of other small things. Got the car back drove it home and parked it. Finally drove it again yesterday, it was operating perfectly fine all day. Go out to to turn it on this morning and the car does nothing. N O T H I N G. Turn the key back, push the clutch a little harder in case it didn't go to the floor. This time the lights on the dash come on, flicker in rapid succession, and a wonderful typewriter noise comes from the right corner of the dashboard. Assuming the ECU has failed again, but wanted to see if anyone else has had an issue like this before?
PirateDuck
Considering the car has been sitting, jump start / check your battery charge. Sounds like the starter solenoid clicking, but not getting enough juice from the battery to spin the starter.
frapjap
Will do. Just seems odd that it would fail over night.
frapjap
Alright. Battery tested a okay at 12.7 volts. Did notice that the positive battery terminal ring was a little deformed. Bought a new one at the Zone, installed it, and bitckity BAM, no more dash light problems. ECU seems okay for now!
