Can someone help 2x check this rim size?

I've checked xenonk's sticky post and I did a search of rims/tires to fit on a 04 STI/WRX so im 99% certain that this will fit the LGT, but could someone fill in that 1% for me before I spend all this money? TIA!

 

Will these fit?

 

17X7 5-100 Offset: 40

 

and

 

17X7 5-100 Offset: 38

 

Both running on 225/45/17 tires

in a sense 'yes' so long as you are comparing the same wheel width.

Example:

A 17x8 +25mm offset will look like a 17x7 +0mm if you look from the fender side.. so the extra 1" width from the 8" wheel will be added towards the shock side of the wheel.
