No Oil Pressure

Recommended Posts

A while ago I lost all my oil pressure, ive replaced the oil pump relief valve, changed oil and filter, replaced oil pump oring. Its not the sender unit , so now i think its down to the oil pick up in the sump. Is there any way to get the sump off without pulling the motor? Is there anything else that it could be? The motor was reconditioned about 3500kms ago. As much as id hate to say it, but im almost sick of having a Subaru. Its a 1996 bg5 twin turbo, any ideas would be apprecative

were the screws on the back of the oil pump impeller all in place and tight?

they tend to back out.

but i doubt you would have missed them when you pulled the oil pump, but maybe.

and it is easier? to check than lifting the engine and pulling the oil pan.

but if the oil pick up is clogged,

you may have other issues to deal with in the near future.

I managed to undo the pitch bar under the intercooler and take off engine mount bolts. Then jack up the motor up enough to get a swivel joint socket setup to get the back bolts off. I then found the pickup to be fully blocked by what probably was excess gasket maker. Who the f@#k pastes so much on to cause issues and why do they not use anerobic gasket maker. Ive sorted it thanks for your input
