BDII
I had an interesting time at Hannafords today. Lot of people shopping there for the first time.... The loyal patrons are why I avoid Market Basket. Need forum help? Private Message legGTLT

frapjap
Our MB parking lot is EMPTY. Just like the shelves. The thing I'm having a hard time understanding is that if "Bad" Arthur wants to raise the prices so his shareholders (and he) get better returns, how do they plan to accomplish that when their current business model is the paramount reason that customers shop there? If they were priced like Shaws or S&S, I wouldn't even care that The Basket was in town. They'll cannibalize themselves over a drastic change in pricing and alienate the group of people who shop there because they'll just be another grocery store in the vicinity. People seek out this store the way it is. Still though, i find it oddly humorous that even the customers are boycotting the brand- that doesn't happen very often. I think they stated something along the lines of sales being down 90%. Serious stuff.
LegacyMUN2k6
I remember going to the first Market Basket aka Demoulas in Lowell, MA the store was the size of a shoe box.
BDII
Apparently the employees on strike have to return or they'll be replaced. Need forum help? Private Message legGTLT
