doogdog
Here are some pics of my Autometer Nexus Boost and EGT gauges installed. I originally bought the Perrin mouse ears, they were entirely unacceptable because they wound up blocking a lot of the tach/speedo. I also hated the fact that to adapt from 60mm to 52mm you had to use a cut piece of hose with the braid showing. I instead opted for a couple of Autometer gauge cups (52mm). I didn't care for the bling silver hardware that the cups came with so I opted for black allen head hardware from my local True Value Hardware store. I also use the same tupe of hardware to fasten the cups to the column. I'd like your opinions and comments. http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTA1NDcxNzZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTA1NDcxODZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTA1NDcxOTZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMTA1NDcyMDZzNDEzZGZkMzF5NTQx.jpg Rick

Subiewtb
Beautiful!! Wish you could find a way to hide those allens mounting and painted the housing black to better match the steering column color!

SVXWRX
i put the Perrin gage pod in, and it doesn't really block anything for me. it could be a case of how tall you are / how high you have the steering wheel? (i'm 6'). http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/Landshark/29091.JPG i also didn't like the "hose" adapters that came with the Perrin unit, but i had a different problem - there was absolutely no way i could get my gauges to fit in the adapters! i wrapped the gauges with some 1" wide black electrical tape, slipped the rubber spacer that came with my gauges on, and they are nice and snug now. i also painted the Perrin pod with some satin black trim paint, and its an excellent match to the steering column color (please ignore my fingerprints all over the pod, i took the pic after i installed it. ) i may go back and hit the silver gauge face surrounds with the satin black paint when i get a chance.... http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/Landshark/29092.JPG
legacy2005
looks nice. been looking for a way to mount some gauges on my column. how did you secure the bracket to the column, looks like its screwed in, did you have to remove the column to get some nuts onto the screws? Work hard. Play even harder. My Garage

S4
That's just about the nicest gauge placement that I've seen so far. I like it!

I think that for the money the Perrin piece should fit better. Rick

JuxtaGT
Excellent set up, looks really good! My only comments are that the tooth lock washers are probably overkill for the application. If you are worried about the screws comming loose, a spilt ring lock washer would do just fine, and do away with the "I bought this at the local hardware store" look. The tooth washers are stock with the autometer gauge cups, I just painted them black. It looks much better than the stock setup that comes with the gauges, looks way better then the Perrin IMO. JuxtaGT
Hmmm, guess they spec. the tooth washers for fear of it rotating too easy or coming loose? Still overkill, I'd take 'um off it was mine. Still, I'm just nit-picking an otherwsie excellent and well executed set-up.
