SpecBot
I have RomRaider, ECU Flash and Learning View configured and operating on my laptop. Tactrix cable due to arrive today! Initially I would like to use RomRaider to analyze different parameters on my stock ECU for diagnostics and learning my car behavior. What I didn't find to be definitive in the RomRaider getting started documentation is can I run the RomRaider logger as a stand alone operation. I don't feel comfortable copying the ROM from the ECU at this point using ECU flash and loading it into RomRaider. I would like to just use the RomRaider logger until I feel more comfortable with the idea of copying the ROM via ECU flash.
RallyMachine
I do all my flashing, reading and rom editing in ECU flash. I use RomRaider for logging and the MAF scaling tool only.
joeleodee
^didn't definitively answer your question. Yes, you can run Romraider datalogging as a standalone operation without having to load your map through the ECU editor. You only need to copy your ROM from your ECU if you intend to make changes to it. However, reading different parameters through the logging tool of romraider requires no flashing/copying through ecuflash.
