Tearing my hair out: Can't find black ECU connectors!

Recommended Posts

Ok, what the hell. I'm trying to do something which involves connecting the green and black test connectors under the dash. I had no trouble locating the green connectors, but there are NO black connectors. I literally spent 15 minutes looking. There is a huge harness connector, and a smaller black one, but not the one I am looking for. Wtf... anyone know why I might not have the black connectors? They should be right next to the green ones, no?

They might be tucked up into one of the harnesses, meaning you have to undo some of the wrapping to get to them.

But I don't think the black ones (small, rectangular, with one female pin?) are usually hidden. What are you doing?

the green test connector will cycle ALL the relays and the cooling fans,

it will also give you a boat load of trouble codes if you leave it connected.

the black test connector,

i'm not sure,

but it may have disappeared when they introduced obd2.

it used to flash the trouble codes.

but once obd2 came around there was no need and

you cannot flash trouble codes on an obd2 subaru.

there is a 6 pin black? connector that you can use to flash trans, air bag, and abs codes.

it is a six pin connector but only some of the pins are there.

there is also , or should be, a white multi-pin connector for the suabru diagnostic machine.

i forget the name.
