Hi

What has been you experiance with NASA and their HPDE training programs vs SCCA ?

I will be doing more Barber/Bondurant driving schools at the same time.

Seems like NASA HPDE is the easiest way to get on track if you do not want to race and make all the full race mods ? This looks like you learn just based on skill not car ? Looks like I should plan to start in group 2 ?

After HPDE training the Time Trails best laps looks good to me - a way to get out on the track without head to head competition. I would rather race the track than other drivers. Also seems this way is less likely to bust the car up but there are always tire walls.

I want to go fast on the track but have no great desire to wheel to wheel race - is this a good path or are there others I should consider?

Seems like thr same vehicle can race TT and drag with roll cage ?

Yes I am now trying to figureout what to do with my car next year when it is finished.

I still want a street drivable car but want to have fun in straight line and curved tracks.

NASA is a lot easier and relaxed than most other larger car club events.. I havent done an SCCA track event, but SCCA just does everything in a BIG fashion.

you can also find more local clubs like joining the mazda, audi, bmw, and other clubs (and no, you dont have to own their cars to be part of the club) to become a member and run a track day with them.

Only a few "snobs" clubs will only let you in if you own their car choice. If you need more motorsports clubs, just let me know and I can link them to you so you can start off on your way to becoming a track whore like me :p

You can also visit the local track of your choice as they have HDPE single days you can take with various instructors as well throughout the day and still hold the same NASA HDPE style track day event.

I think once you do about 30 to 50+ track events or 100 track days at various tracks, you should be pretty relaxed with driving at speeds and really see where the car would lack or shine.

NASA sounds like the right choice fo rme.

My work schedule has me tied up till Novmeber.

Hopefully next Spring I can start some HPDE events - the eventually TT .

Any suggestions for Subaru friendly clubs in NE would be welcome.

What class do you run ? I expect I will end up in a B or C with all my mods?
