97 legacy outback awd bad on gas ?

Recommended Posts

i have a hard 1-2 shift in my 97 GT.

it came that way when i bought w/125k and a bad engine.

i swapped in a 96 ej22.

i have disconnected the dropping resistor,

swapped in the one from my outback,

change the ATF,

added trans-x,

removed trans-x,

swapped the TCU, twice,

run seafoam through the intake,

and still it jerks, 1-2.

it seems to be worse with no load, or when cold.

less noticeable when warm or under load.

i did read one thread where the problem started right after an AFT ''flush'' at a shop.

they fixed it by replacing the valve body in the trans.

this seems extreme to me , but if it worked,.....

so god luck.

i hope you find the solution and then post it.

Take off the parking brake before driving? In all seriousness though with such little information it's difficult to provide a meaningful suggestion. And driveability issues?
