rust is not my area of expertise.

but the sunroof,

usually it is caused by the drains in the roof / ceiling being clogged.

open the sun roof and stick your head up through the hole.

look for crap, leaves, junk, in the 2 front corners.

there is a gutter system that catches the water,

and drain holes that take it away.

check the drain holes.

another possibility is the plastic tubing in the A pillar that connects to the drain holes,

if it disconnect from the plastic gutter tray,

the water will leak into the car, but not drip from the ceiling.

i park in front of my house under a maple tree.

and i have to clean my drain holes about twice a year.

i should probably do it more often.

but the wet driver seat is a dead give away that the drains are plugged.

good luck.

That's on odd place for rust on the doors. If it was rusting through, it usually starts at the bottom. Perhaps it's just surface rust under the paint that just needs to be ground down. I would see if it's weak.

If it is rusted through, you could make a patch from scrap metal, cut out the bad metal with a Dremel tool, and you could weld (or pop rivet) a the new metal over it). I've done a lot of metal patching over the years and much of it lasted a long time. I next have to do the two small (for now) sports behind the rear fender opening on the Impreza we just bought (from Pennsylvania).

Yea ima have to get good at patching myself if unless I start buying really new cars. Theey rust good up here. Got lucky on my leggy no rust really. But a short tearm to keep the rust from spreadin to much before u can really work it out, just take some clear rustoloiem. Dont look pretty but from my experiance helps stop it spreadin for a while
