dimwittedmoose51
I should've taken a poto of the shoes and where the springs went before taking apart, but that was before I decided to replace the rusty gas tank and and even rustier rear hydraulic lines and the job took over a month to get to this point of getting the shoes back on. Car is a 96 Brighton Wagon... Short of driving to a junk yard and shooting a photo, does anyone here have photo from a factory manual or something similar. The Hanes manual has the exploded photo, but that's not helping me with spring and adjuster positions...and internet search has come up empty. SBT
Welcome to the site and glad you could join us. I've attached two PDFs, both for a 1997 Legacy which should be similar to your setup. First is the actual rear drum assembly component parts and the second is the actual service procedure. Hopefully, that will get you oriented and back on the road. spooln30
You should have just done one side at a time.
spooln30
Some cars have to different size shoes for the front side and back make sure you place them in the correct spot. That's if there is two different sizes.
dimwittedmoose51
No, I shoulda taken a digital shot of the assemblies before I proceeded. Doing one side at at time while replacing the gas tank and rebuilding the rear steering knuckles just wasn't possible, but thank you for the scolding.....
