blackdiamond18
So I need a little insight. My LGT is currently running 245/45/17 on the stock wheels( yes, it's a VERY tight fit) what I had planned on doing was going with 235/45/17 instead, but a friend of mine said to just get 10 or 15 mm spacers. What do you guys think would be the better thing to do?? P.s. It's on a stock suspension and the fenders are NOT rolled
blongo804
What exactly is tight fitment wise? Close to the struts, close to rubbing, etc? Just curious because i'll be throwing a set of these on 17x8 RPF-1's really soon.
blackdiamond18
Close to rubbing. I'd say there's about a half an inch when the tires are straight. When the wheels turned it's even closer. And I've always wanted RPF-1's
whitetiger
where is it coming close to? The fender, or the strut? FWIW, a 245/40/17 is a better size if you are close to the strut in any way. this is assuming you are running a 17x8 +48 wheel.
blackdiamond18
It's close to the strut, and I'm running the stock 17x7. I don't remember the stocks offset
blackdiamond18
So a 245/40 would be better than 235/45?
Drift Motion
245/40/17 is almost the same as stock size of 215/45/17 why would you run such a big/balloon tire on stock wheels is beyond me...
blackdiamond18
Previous owner. He put them on, and it destroyed the control arm bushings too
whitetiger
oh, so you are on stock wheels. reading>me, lol. 245 is way too wide to be put on a 17x7 wheel. if you are sticking with the stock wheels, run a 225/45/17 and be trouble free.
