thesavo
I thought this was odd but I wanted to post before I added any more fluid. I check the fluid after some hilly driving. I ran through all of the gears and was on a level surface. While still running the fluid level was st the bottom, in the COLD area. It was bearlly reading on the stick. On the my way home a few days later, I drove down the same hilly roads. I stopped and checked the fluid again three times. Again, low in the COLD area. I go into the store for 35 minutes, and picked up a quart of ATF Dexron III. Before adding it, I check the fluid with the engine off. The reading was way above the HOT marking. I am learry about adding more now that I have this confusing scenario. The readings seam inverse. Can this be? running at operating temperature http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/02/yhyreba6.jpg Cold for 35-45 minutes after running http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/02/pegera9y.jpg
thesavo
Update. I received some reassurance form subaruoutback.Org. I confidently added 10 -12 ounces of dex III atf. I am right on top of the HOT reading.
spartan
I had a heck of a time reading the dipstick on my 06 4eat. It just takes a bunch if checking to feel comfortable with it, glad you got it sorted.
