Vehicle managaement monitoring-data

Just parted with impreza and purchased Legacy 2001 2.5i.

 

I am in the market for something to monitor the vehicles ECU and download to PC periodically .

 

Any suggestions on what works and what doesnt work.

 

My old Subie was ODB-1 so I never experimented with what I am asking for now.

 

I would like to compare data recovered between diving light footed and more bursty-higher reving trends.

 

I havew intrerest in what makes the Subaru a great vehicle.
