add_rock
So, I've followed all the great information on the forum and negotiated down to $26.2K for a silver '05 LGT LTD 5EAT Wagon. I'm happy with the pricehttp://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif, but before I put a deposit down later this afternoon should I ask about reflashing the ECU to fix the studdering problem? I did a little reading about this issue a few days back and recall that depending on the build date it may not be a problem. The dealer is currently getting the build date for me. I'll post it when I get it. In the meantime, can anyone tell me what build dates would have fixed the studdering issue? Thanks- BTW-This forum is greathttp://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif!

Deer Killer
*shrug* When you test drive take your time and _try_ to drive slow, like you had you grandparents in the car or what not. Then you will know if it's a problem.
add_rock
I actually picked the car up last night. I haven't noticed any studdering yet. However, I've only driven it about 20 miles so far. Thanks for the responses! BTW - The car rockshttp://legacygt.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif. I've never had a brand new car before and I couldn't have picked a better one to buy brand new. sjhwilkes
I really only notice it on the freeway, when RPMs are pretty steady between 2K and 3K. Spoke to my dealer today, but they don't have the decent reflashing tool yet, so only offered to send my ECU to New Jersey to be re-flashed...I'd rather just buy an Access Port and be done with it. Mine was build in March BTW.
mwiener2
I had the stuttering issue, got the ecu fix, then got the AP. AP was the better fix. My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons

sjhwilkes
05. Question for anyone with an AP - if you unmarry / reflash to stock, and you going back to the recent ECU firmware or the earlier one. Or do you take an image of your own ECU the fist time you marry the AP?
