Maintenance at 102k miles

Recommended Posts

Hi all:

I just turned 102k on the odometer and am looking to do a number of maintenance related things to my 06 5EAT, thought I might float my plan out here for any suggestions. A little background: although I have 102k, a lot of the miles are highway. I have always used Pennzoil full synthetic, and have been pretty good about oil changes every 3,750k. This is a daily driver, i.e., no autocross, and I'm planning to drive it for another 3+ years. I had to replace the 5EAT at 90k or so b/c of some fluke issue that's for another tread. So that being said, I'm looking to do the following:

1. Gates timing belt kit from Fred Beans

2. OEM Thermostat

3. Differential fluid change

4. NGK Iridium Plugs

5. StopTech Rotors

6. StopTech Pads

and I was wondering if I should do:

7. 11 mm Oil Pump

When I had the transmission replaced my mechanic said my turbo had no play, and so I'm hoping to get to 120k or so before replacing it with a 16g.

Any friendly advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

No need for Stoptech rotors, I would go with Centric Premiums. I would also consider replacing the ATF with the Motul ATF and possibly adding in an ATF Cooler. We like the B&M kits for that. I would pass on the oil pump, not need to replace that unless it's bad.

Let us know if we can provide any parts as we carry everything and can make you up a package.
