I found this - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=335263 - Does this apply to our BG5s / BD5s? I found some 18x8 wheels wrapped in 225/40/18, and they look sweet, but the wheel offset is only 35. According to the above linked post, they won't work. Ideal fitment on a 2nd gen is a 9" wide wheel with a 48mm offset. You cannot get any more aggressive than that without it poking real far or hitting the strut assembly. I ran a 205/40/17 and had next to no rubbing issues unless at full lock going over bumps - I was also extremely low. Disclaimer: I also did this with coilovers and had about a credit card's width of space between the strut and the inner lip. Disclaimer.....When I got my new 17" wheels the tires on that they came with were 245/40/R17. The width of the tire (245 part) didn't clear the spring perch in the rear. I needed 5mm spaces and reduced the tire size to 235/40/R17 and it worked like magic. No rubbing and that wheel tire combo is like super glue to the road! Amazing upgrade from the old OEM snowflakes. Ran it for thousands and thousands of miles (on MA roads!) with 0 ill effects. You want an aggressive wheel fitment/stance you don't have an option, you're not getting that fitment with full sized tires . Looking back at these pictures I never should have gotten rid of this thing. I prefer just tucked under for good suspension travel and tires that are as wide as the wheel or wider. Most grip on the road as possible. That's one slick looking bg though man... They would have gone a lot lower but the bottom of the assembly spins out the bottom of the sleeve when you lower it, and if I were any lower it would have contacted the axle boots up front.
