travgag
Hi everyone, Just picked myself up a 2008 impreza with the 5mt, I still have my old 97 legacy outback auto, and also had a 95 legacy ! http://www.travisgagnonmedia.com/08subi.jpg Now i got a deal on this car, From what i can tell and talking to the previous owner with receipts, headgaskets have been done along with rear main seal, and a new clutch, it has 107 000 k, only catch they cracked the head installing the oil pressure sensor for the Variable Valve timing, so I think they got the heads shaved then if they took everything off the heads, so then they also tried putting some epoxy and looks like they did a crap job at that, and its leaking through it and burning on the exhaust, i havent remouved the expoxy yet, but i think it looks like the one in this thread http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f88/oil-consumption-leak-help-please-100017/index2.html anyone try tig welding that ? also when i test drove it, it was stalling and low idle issue, it would drop and also try to compensate and bring it back up and sometimes die, the problem seams to have gone away for the time being though, and one last thing any one have bad sun visors that droop, thank and cheers ! apexi
Part of me wonders if the low idle/stalling was the result of the battery recently being disconnected, and the ecu relearning. That happens to me in my NA legacy after I disconnect the battery. I had a droopy sun visor on my car. It started to droop after i flipped it and heard a crack one day, dissected the sun visor and saw that it was basically broken beyond repair. $85 later, I had a new oem sun visor to replace the broken one.
