praedet Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 To start a new topic, what does everybody think, go with the WRX pedals/dead pedal ala http://www.legacysti.com/viewtopic.php?t=1383&highlight=wrx+pedals, or the STi pedals/dead pedal. I will be getting a RBP Limited wagon with the charcoal interior and I think the WRX pedals will look understated, but nice. I like the STi, but the red rubber nobs might be a bit much. Any thoughts. Also, pics of the STi pedals installed would be great... Ted
axis008 Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 I like the STI pedals. The only thing about them though is that 1) there is no dead pedal included (you will see that the JDM version DOES have it, but if you get that kind here, it will look weird because of RHD/LHD differences) and 2) the little screw mounts for the pedals look funny on the gas pedal. The WRX pedals on the other hand is really nice as well--very subtle. The WRX pedals will probably look better on your car because it matches the charcoal, but the STI pedals... well.. it's STI! Hope that helps a tiny bit. A picture of WeThree's GRP sedan's STI pedals -ben
wayne53 Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 sti pedals are the only way! I just need a dead pedal.. note: both the wrx pedals and the sti pedals are a pain in the ass to get on
iyamdman Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I had my dealer put on the WRX pedals - $100 parts + labor. I really love them!! Didn't like the "bolt-on" STI pedals
OCDetails Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I wasn't a fan of the STi pedals either. I took them off and sold them and bought a set of WRX pedals with the matching dead pedal for $95 shipped. Everything is on except the stupid gas pedal. I still haven't had time to get that $#(@!%& pin pulled out. Its ok though because I don't see the gas pedal when I open the door. I do see the brake, clutch and dead pedal and the best part is that there isn't any pink anywhere. :) They don't make a dead pedal that is a direct replacement for the one you have. The only one they make is meant and shaped to go on the dead pedal of a right hand drive car. So in other words, they don't make a dead pedal for our cars that matches the STi pedals. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . iyamdman Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I am working with this guy: http://www.autospeedperformance.com/Subaru/dpedal.htm too find out if the Legacy bolt spacing is the same as the WRX. If so, then this one should work.
OCDetails Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 You may want to check out this thread. That pedal is a direct replacement. I've got it and it fits fine. Compared to the STi pedal it looks much much better. The STi dead pedal would fit between those two bolts. You would have to drill new holes for it in order to use it and you would still have those black plastic plugs showing. This one is much nicer looking. I got my set of WRX pedals including the dead pedal for 95 bucks shipped from MastroWRX, but I don't see it on the site anymore. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S .
