swagon2.5 Posted November 5, 2013 Share Posted November 5, 2013 I have a 98 Legacy GT with the original 4EAT and I'm having problems with the shifter. When you move the shifter to select 'Drive' the transmission stays in neutral. You have to go into 3rd and then move the shifter so it is half way between 3rd and drive to actually be in 'Drive' I've adjusted the cable as to All-Data and Mitchell's procedure yet the car still has the issue. monkeyposeur Posted November 5, 2013 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Did you check the inhibitor switch on the passenger side of the trans? It has to be in the right position for it to work right.
