Subaru Owner's Autocross Nov. 23!

Hey All!

Folger Subaru is having its last Subaru Owners Autocross (open to all makes and models) of the year November 23 at Carolina Motorsports Park! The event will be run similar to previous events with an autocross course set up on the West Course, which is the segment of the track fully visible from kart track/paddock. We will be utilizing an open configuration of the track, seeing slightly higher speeds than one would see in an autocross in a smaller parking lot, but will still be meeting stringent safety regulations making this event perfect for individuals of all skill levels.

The cost of the event will be $55 for Subaru Owners, $65 for Non-Subaru Owners, with no mandated work assignment. Should you want to work $10 will be deducted off of your registration fee for signing up for a work assignment, which will be run like a normal autocross where you work while another run group is completing their runs (in other words whether you work or not will not dictate the number of runs you will receive). We will be using SCCA SOLO classing regulations and are hoping to have between 4-8 runs per person with free fun runs taking up the remaining time should there be any remaining after competition runs.

Spectators are welcome! We will have an H6-swapped Subaru demo vehicle giving ridealongs to spectators and there will also be a professional kart racing going on at the kart track so there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day. Also, we will have a car show setup in the paddock for those who would rather show their cars than run them.

We hope to have a really large crowd out at this final event as it will dictate whether it will become a quarterly event in the future, so tell all of your friends! If you have been wanting to drive your vehicle in a performance-oriented controlled environment this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try or if you want to come spectate I’m sure it will not disappoint!

If you have any further questions about the event are vehicle classing please feel free to email Josh at jsotomayor55@gmail.com

Hope to see everyone out at CMP November 23rd!

Josh

IMPORTANT UPDATES!

Registration Link: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.requirements/uidEvent/34D85C51-C006-CAD0-009AF6981D044AC3#.UoQJ_Hm9Kc0

We will still have on-site payment and registration but your life will be made easier if you at least preregister.

Camping will be available Friday night on-site for those who wish to arrive a day early and camp, the course will be open for walking early Saturday morning and after setup Friday night.

Saabaru (Saab 9-2x and Saab 9-2x Aero) and Scion FR-S owners will receive Subaru owner pricing so be sure to select that during checkout or tell registration day-off. Should you have any issues with that be sure to let me know (jsotomayor55@gmail.com) and I’ll get it taken care of.

Also, for numbers they must be of legal height and width. You want roughly 8” tall numbers with 4” tall class letters. If you need assistance in classing a vehicle feel free to shoot me a PM or email and I’ll be happy to assist. These events aren’t taken super seriously as far as competition so don’t worry about being in some ridiculous class. Numbers will need to be on the car prior to tech so any corrections can be made before you pass tech and complete your runs. Also please be sure your helmet is accepted at SCCA autocross events and is either Snell or SA certified.

Finally, please be sure when you arrive at CMP to check in at the front office, and drive at a walking speed throughout the paddock for event safety. Can’t wait till next weekend, hope to have a great event!

We're less than a week out! Some last minute info:

Weather: though it looks like we're going to be set on the forecast, should it rain we will continue to run! We will only stop for lightning and will wait till it is a safe distance away, wait 20 minutes then proceed with the event (as most SCCA run events do).

Facilities: Camping will be available on-site and the showers/bathrooms will be open as per usual. The snack/lunch stand will be open on Saturday, and we will be breaking for lunch halfway through the day so that the track workers can have lunch.

Registration: While online registration will close Friday, you will be able to register/pay on-site if you haven't registered or paid.

The gates will open at 6am on Saturday, and you should aim to arrive by 8am to play it safe. Tech inspection will open at 8 am and you must have numbers on your car to go through tech. Even you have annual tech from a SCCA region you must roll through tech; no event tech sticker - no runs.

Driver's meeting will be at 9:30 at the tech inspection shed by the garages (you'll see when you get there if you are unfamiliar with the layout of CMP), and we are shooting to have the first car out by 10am. We're doing the early start to get as many runs in as possible on top of the fun runs after competition runs have been completed.

Looking forward to a great weekend! See everyone Saturday!
