mmanus88
i am currently faced with making a decision on my car which is still in shop from car crash. the shop guy mentioned just keeping 18s and going with larger profile tires (since i did not like driving in NJ with low profiles). my 18s already had low profile toyo proxes 4 tires, so i wondered if this possible to do on the stock system without modification? if so what size tire would i be using? SC GT
Bigger than what? Don't know how wide your rims are, their offset, or the size of your current tires, so can't answer your question.
mmanus88
225/40/18 i beleive, 80% sure would going bigger with stock car be feasible? or is just getting 17 inchers with proper tire size more practical?
SC GT
I suppose you could try 225/45/18. Would screw with the accuracy of your odo/speedometer because it's such a tall tire, but I would think they will fit as long as you aren't lowered. Xenonk would know. Someone on the board is selling some 225/45/18s pretty cheap.
Xenonk
^ correct. You can fit a 25.5" tire at best, say good bye to your speedo and odometer readings. (Stock is 24.8" diameter tire) Keefe Keefe

Xenonk
that's an OBXT/3.0R... bigger tires and taller suspension. GTs and I's run 25" stock. Keefe Keefe
eVoMotion
Ok - I am confused. My OBXT had RE92A 22/55/17 = 26.2. What size tires does your 3R have red beast?
