ginnis
I have a 1992 Legacy wagon thats automatic, not the turbo model. Is there anything that I can do to both keep it running well and possibly improve its performance? It only has 180xxx miles on it and runs well already. I am not looking to spend a lot of money. Thanks
AAPOQ
What are your goals? There isn't a lot of engine performance that can be done without swapping as far as I know... I would look into suspension/brakes/tires:)
2point5GT_Dan
1. mod is tires. Dedicated summer and winter tires (and gravels if you really want to have fun). 2. Driver mod. Do an autocross or rallycross and learn about turning braking and car control. 3. good suspension and bushings
ginnis
Is it possible to fit a turbo from the turbo model onto a non turbo without risking engine damage?
2point5GT_Dan
Short answer, yes. Real answer. It has been done and there are tons of posts about it on NASIOC and RS25. You would be better off reading lots and lots and lots over there, but be warned that you don't just simply bolt on turbo crap and go.
Jacobpockros
Very low boost with running high octane should be safe. Don't exceed 6psi and watch your afr's.
