NavyMan86
Well, my 05 Leggy is about to eclipse 100k miles and it's going to be time to do some serious refurbishing of parts and just a general tune-up; plus some pre-emptive "winterizing" for Connecticut's winters. Things I've done: Compression test (w/in 10lbs, low overall.. to be expected though) brake pads and rotors (I've a thread in the brakes/suspension forum about some minor concerns I'm having) New battery New lightbulbs all around What I'm doing: Seafoam in the gas I've a few ideas in mind: Oil additives..? (I used Seafoam in my old truck and it didn't hurt anything, but with a turbo.. I'm not so sure) Reset the ECU..? Fluid flush everything (radiator, brakes, tranny) A/C recharge Alignment, re-balance tires (or just wait until I can afford new tires) Spark plugs/wires wiper blades Air blasting the chassis to get a bunch of extra crud out LCA bushings Re-greasing the differentials re-greasing everything.. come to think of it Honestly thought about replacing all the wheel bearings just to save myself the trouble Cobb AccessPort I'm not exactly the most well-versed in these cars yet, still learning. Just wanna make sure this beauty see's 200k
NavyMan86
Let me assure you that I used minute amounts of Seafoam in the oil. Maybe 1 tank a month, and switched between various brands of "upper cylinder lubricant" for the gas tank
Shawn06SpecB
Things I've done: Compression test (w/in 10lbs, low overall.. to be expected though) brake pads and rotors (I've a thread in the brakes/suspension forum about some minor concerns I'm having) - worn out? why waste $$ New battery - was is original? New lightbulbs all around - why waste $$? What I'm doing: Seafoam in the gas I've a few ideas in mind: Oil additives..? (I used Seafoam in my old truck and it didn't hurt anything, but with a turbo.. I'm not so sure) - just run rotella T6 and check the level often Reset the ECU..? - why? does nothing? Fluid flush everything (radiator, brakes, tranny) - flush brake fluid good idea at 100k, test coolant drain and fill if needed, tranny and rear end drain and fill are 60 or 80k service interval A/C recharge - why? Alignment, re-balance tires (or just wait until I can afford new tires) - why? do you have uneven wear? when was last alignment? any vibration? how much tread depth? Spark plugs/wires - plugs are good idea at 100k, we don't have plug wires... wiper blades - why? worn torn etc? Air blasting the chassis to get a bunch of extra crud out - wut? LCA bushings - why? torn? Re-greasing the differentials re-greasing everything.. come to think of it Honestly thought about replacing all the wheel bearings just to save myself the trouble Cobb AccessPort I'm not exactly the most well-versed in these cars yet, still learning.
