  1. I can see the bottom plug is rounded over just a little. I have an 11 in a socket but not going to mess with it today. I think its safer in the mean time to get a siphon and pump out and refill a few times to get a big percentage of it out before messing around and stripping the bottom plug. Its a pain, i dont have a garage so i have to drive about 25 minutes to use someone elses and this car i had to drive up on back ramps then jack up the front and put under another set of ramps to have it level.
  2. Got the top plug out but not the bottom. I tried turning the bottom but its rusty and it seems like the 10mm allen is a little sloppy possibly rounded over so im not going to try it today. Only thing i can think of is to put top plug back in drive home. Buy a siphon pump come back over in a few days and siphon what i can out through top plug, fill, siphon and fill, repeat a few times will have to be better than it is until i can get someone to loosen the bottom plug and put two new ones in
  3. If i can loosen it with a bar or not worth trying? Would it be best to just hand tighten with the allen wrench? I cannot find a piece of pipe to use for leverage. Not sure if i should try to tap the end with a hammer? Silly question but to loosen i should be trying to push the allen wrench towards the passenger wheel Correct? The plug turns left like normal?
  4. I bought a 10mm long allen wrench. I got it to fit in but i cannot free the top plug. Certainly not going to try the bottom before. Ive been spraying it with bolt buster to try and help it. But i won't have time today. Hopefully it doesnt harm it driving home and back over another warmer day to try again. Filled the front and it was about 1.5 quarts
  5. Hi. I just changed the front diff fluid to naviguard ultra 75w90 synthetic gl5. I read the rear plugs were a 1/2 breaker or a 13mm square? But they are definitely smaller than a 1/2. Tried a 3/8 and it doesnt seem to begin to fit either. Im not going to force anything but id really appreciate if someone can tell me what they are maybe octagon bit? So i can change that as well or im going to have to drive it with the old fluid in the rear and new in front.... also it needed to be changed. And the top plug looks like a very tight fit. Do you jack up on rear suspension to access the top plug? It will not let me upload a photo.

  7. thanks i think its worth trying. would it be a problem not having tpms sensors in the other wheels? my only other concern would be if the 225's would be too wide and cause rubbing. i just looked and compared rotor size for impreza and outback and it looks like the impreza rotors are about .5" smaller in diameter
  8. Hi. I recently got an 09 impreza which has 205/50/17. I have extra sets of wheels from my 01 outback 225/60/16. Im wondering before trying would it be possible to use a set of the 16's on the impreza? I know the wheel sensors would be an issue but do you even need them? Im asking as I was going to buy a 2010 forester and the guy said I would be able to use my wheels from the 01 outback on the forester.
