  1. This weekend while driving ~200 miles to my Parents house, my Infotainment system completely turned off. I was getting ready to make a turn on a new road to bypass traffic. I held down the power button and turned the system back on and my android auto failed to start. I had to disconnect my phone and reconnect and then it connected and resumed navigation. Thats the first time i have had any failure like that. No issues the rest of the way down and back. I have a 2020 legacy XT with ~8k miles on it.
  2. I use Android. Since November of last year has never lost pair or had an issue. I know that does not help but wonder if model, settings etc make a difference.....?

I have had a S10+ and S20+ and both had the problem. The S10+ didn't have any issues with my previous car or any other bluetooth device.

What type of Android do you have?

There aren't really any settings for bluetooth that i think could cause this. Maybe Subaru isn't working well with Samsung?

But the easiest fix for me is to just plug in the usb cable and it fixes itself. Much easier than deleting pairing on either side and repairing.

I have been told by Subaru that they fixed it, but i have upgraded to the newest version each time and it still happens maybe 3 or 4 times a month.

  3. I hadn't seen that before, i just assumed that lane centering would center it.

I will see if changing it makes a difference on where it goes in the lane.

Ideally i would like it to actually center it in the lane instead of being noticeably to one side or the other.

I tested this today and it doesn't seem to make any difference. Maybe it is a little more towards the center, but definately not on the left hand side of the lane.

  4. Hey jbahlman and Blackbr

There is a setting in the Car Settings/Eyesight that says Select Drive on Left/Drive on Right. Did you try changing it from Right Lane to Left Lane or visa versa?

  5. My car does this too. It doesn’t seem like I’m too far to the left but at times I have to fight the car from propelling me to the right. Which is exactly what happens if I release the steering wheel suddenly.

The car stays centered if left to it’s own devices which obviously doesn’t last long. After 11,000 miles I still haven’t figured out a way to comfortably hold the wheel, but loose enough to let the car self center.

That is how i would describe it. Has yours always done that? Mine started after the 504 update. Not sure if that was a coincidence or not. But when i took it in for this update, they couldn't reproduce it so i took it out with the service advisor and i couldn't make it happen anymore. So hopefully it is resolved. The first time it happened the car next to me thought i was going to hit it and had to swerve. Ever since i have been afraid to use it.

  6. I had mine updated today while getting an oil change. The S/S seems to stay off much longer than before. I rarely got it to stay off more than 15 seconds. Today after i got home, it stayed off for atleast 2 minutes. That was my main reason for hating it, because it would stop the engine only to restart before the light was green, no matter what i did.

Also i had an issue with my lane centering where it would jerk to the right if i had it in the far left of the lane almost causing a crash. Not sure if something reset or there was a fix, but i couldn't reproduce this issue anymore.

With the fixes to the infotainment in the last year there isn't much to complain about anymore. The last thing on my list is the phone pairing issue, but i now know i can just plug it into the usb port and the pairing fixes itself.

  7. The problem is when you are driving the phone keeps getting a message that the car wants to pair and if you click connect, it fails, but i keep getting the beeps constantly unless i turn off bluetooth.

    Speed Test

Yes that is very annoying. I have found if i plug the phone in, someone connecting it fixes the issue. I am guessing it has to with android auto using the bluetooth as well. It is much easier than re-pairing bluetooth. It has worked the 4 or 5 times i have had the issue since the 504 upgrade.

  8. I have had 504 on my car for close to a month. Today after i pulled out of the driveway, the whole screen went black after i tried to change the volume. I pulled over and after about 30 seconds the screen came back. First time that has happened.

Also my phone has lost pairing 4 or 5 times since the update. Too bad they didn't fix that like they said. But atleast i know now that if i plug it in via usb somehow the android auto connecting fixes the pairing issue if i leave it running. Better than repairing it each time.

Has anyone had issue with the lane centering after the update? I hadn't noticed any issues until today, but it was pulling dramatically to the right. It has always liked to be in the right hand side of the lane, but i have never let off the wheel and it jerk to the right like it did today. I thought maybe the alignment was off, but when i turned off the lane centering, it was fine.

  9. With the new update start/stop is easier to turn off.

The new update is supposed to fix the issues people have had with the infotainment, it is too early to tell if it fixes all of them.

The starlink app has worked great for me.

I have android but as said above car play is now full screen in the new update.

I have a legacy xt so i can't comment on the seats, but i love this car. This is my first Subaru and so far i am very happy.

  10. I had mine updated this week by the dealer and i made a point to tell them it had to be 504. Hopefully this fixes my bluetooth issues. Glad the artwork is on all the time and the start/stop is easier to turn off, although mine is much better after the engine has broken in some.
  11. I have had my legacy since December and only have 2k miles on it due to covid and not driving to work. The Start/Stop was very abrupt and jarring until this week. All of a sudden it is much less rough and i can live with it now. Before i was going to take it in and get it checked out. Maybe the engine had to break in some or the heat is helping, i don't know but i am glad.
  12. So it happened again yesterday. I tried turning off the car and opening the door and restarting it. That didn't work. Then i tried turning off bluetooth on my phone and back on again and that didn't work. The problem is when you are driving the phone keeps getting a message that the car wants to pair and if you click connect, it fails, but i keep getting the beeps constantly unless i turn off bluetooth.

The final thing that i tried is to change the name my phone for bluetooth. i had a space in the name and i was thinking maybe that could be the issue.

  13. Has anyone had issues with their phone not staying paired with the car.

I have had my Limited xt since December and have had the issue over and over. It doesn't seem repeatable, sometimes it is good and others it is not.

I had an Samsung S10 and i upgraded to a S20+ in March and it has the same issue, so i don't think it is the phone. I don't have issues with my buds losing the pairing.

    Any ideas?

To fix it, i have to delete the phone and readd it.
