  1. So I've got a situation with my 2001 Subaru Legacy L. The car is at 250,000 km, and the camshafts are leaking oil onto the timing belt, and the head gasket is leaking coolant. Both the dealership and an independent shop have taken a look and suggest repairing the car soon as the timing belt is soaked in oil and could go any time. The full repairs (camshaft seals, head gasket, and timing belt) would cost $3k. At 250,000 km do you guys think it's worth it repairing the car, or should I replace it with something else around the $5k range with less mileage and hopefully good conditions? The car's been taken well care of and I'm the original owner, always met service appointments and maintenance, but at 250,000 km I'm not sure how much longer it has.
