  1. What’s your verdict on these? When I test drove the car I thought they were very comfortable and loved the extendable thigh support. Now, I’m not sure. After two long drives I get pain in lower back and right butt cheek. Still playing with positioning to see if I can improve it.
  2. There are lots of Touring XTs on Auto Trader but you may have to travel to get one. That’s how I found mine, I had to drive two hours across Ohio to get it. White Touring XT.
  3. I had to drive two hours to get my Touring but I’m leasing.
  4. I’m trying to give start stop a chance but I’m a hater. It is very unpredictable and unrefined. Sometimes it doesn’t shut the car down even when I expect and want it to. I hate that I bring the car to a stop and it shuts down before I even shift to park, and then it restarts again only for me to turn the car off. I refuse to believe this is good for the car in the long term. I’d like a first page macro that both turns on my AVH and turns off SS if Subaru won’t give us the chance to permanently disable these in our settings.
  5. I’ve only ever used one fob and my EQ settings drop. We set up a second driver profile for my wife, I wonder if the car switching to her and then to me breaks the EQ.
  6. I just picked mine up Monday, drove 150 miles on day one, and a couple of short trips since. Really enjoying it so far, but every time I get into it I identify a car setting that I need to change (like automatic door unlocks, turning off the acquired auto beep, etc.). It's a great highway car, I think the turbo is essential for driveability and quietness.
  7. Picking up my Touring XT next week. I’ll be leasing; I don’t know the purchase price but I’m happy with these numbers. 36 months/18,000 miles per year $2,000 out of pocket at sale, mostly Ohio taxes $443/month
  8. I didn’t order one but I did have to expand my horizons across the state to get my Touring XT, a white one. I’ll be joining the club next week!
  9. I test drove a Cadillac CT5 yesterday. Great looking car but otherwise I was very unimpressed. The Legacy is a more premium looking and feeling car (interior anyway) and has far more standard features, irrespective of price. The Caddy was 50k and didn’t have adaptive cruise or lane centering.
  10. While I do wish the car was even quieter (my MKZ has spoiled me), the Legacy drives much higher than its price.
  11. Thanks Stuff. XTs (Touring or Limited) are hard to find. My local dealer has never carried one. Hopefully they are more plentiful by July when I need to get one. I won’t care about exterior color so that might help...
  12. Which Legacy did you get, and what was MSRP, and what was your final sales price? If you leased, can you provide details including payment? I’m inching closer to my lease termination and assumption of (hopefully) a Legacy Touring XT model. Would like to know what I can expect when I’m ready to buy or lease. Thanks!
  13. Thank you. I won’t be getting my next car til July but Legacy is near top of the list. I drove the G70 this week, liked the car and can probably get a great deal but lack of rear seat and trunk space may disqualify it.
  14. I lurk around the Outback forums too as there are a lot more posts. Has anyone driven the Outback, and how did it compare with the Legacy? Why did you ultimately choose the Legacy? Thank you!
  15. I think this forum's goal should be to entice Subaru to make the start/stop switch changeable with one click on the main infotainment screen. What is the best way to make this happen? We should probably ask about this on the Outback forums too where there is a lot more activity...
  16. I like to read Edmunds consumer reviews and have posted reviews of my own cars going back 4 cars. A lot of people are complaining about Ascent transmission issues, and Consumer Reports doesn’t have glowing things to say about the car’s dependability either. Edmunds reviews of the Outback are quite good but no one has reviewed the 2020 Legacy yet (someone will beat me too it if I get one next July). Does the Legacy use the same transmission as the Ascent?
  17. Volvo does this too with the cruise control. I would guess this would make it easier to adjust speed as the speed limit changes. Would take getting used to.
  18. I agree, I don’t know that it’s a matter of demand so much as supply as the car is brand new. I hope supply and lease rates improve by July as I too want the Touring model. That interior is just stunning m
  19. I have the same question! Does Subaru have preferred leasing with Costco, X Plan, etc.?
  20. I posted a lengthy review of the Legacy on the first impressions thread. The start/stop feature of the 2020 is intrusive and annoying. It reverts to on every time you restart the car. From the infotainment screen, you must go through at least three clicks to turn it off (vehicle settings, scroll down, start stop off). The car is great but this was my biggest turnoff.
  21. Hi everyone! I have a 2017 Lincoln MKZ that comes off lease in about 9 months. The 2020 Legacy is my front-runner to replace it. I would never have considered the Subaru brand until a review of the new Legacy came across my inbox. I was impressed by the pictures of the Touring model interior (love that shade of brown). I've decided for my next car that I'll be wanting features, rather than a luxury brand (I can't seem to have both). Since I drive back and forth to Wisconsin from Ohio a few times a year, adaptive cruise and lane centering are musts. I spent a lot of time crawling around inside (and driving) a Legacy Limited (non-Turbo) last week. Here were my impressions. I think I will want the turbo. I'm not so interested in 0-60 but I do need to pass semis on two-lane roads. The base engine didn't feel up to this task. Subaru is promoting this car's quietness. In this regard, I found it unspectacular. If this is the case, the earlier Legacies must be very noisy cars! The turbo has soundproofed side glass and maybe it will sound quieter. My MKZ is certainly quieter, and should be. The Legacy's ride was great, I am more interested in comfort that sportiness. The sound level was comparable to the new 2019 Nissan Altima I've been running across a lot on rental lots. One thing that attracts me to the Subaru is the driver's seat with the thigh extension. Loved it. The seat is mostly very comfortable; I felt that it could/should have been able to be positioned lower, and the lumbar support only moves in and out (not up/down). In addition, even with the lumbar support fully extended I was wishing for a little more. The lateral support on the driver's seat was a little squishy, rather than being truly supportive. I wish I could transport the driver's seat from the Volvo S60-R Design into every car I own in the future. The quality of the interior was a huge turn on. Stereo was very good. I found the infotainment responsive and easy to navigate. Two turn offs: 1. Start/Stop. Intrusive. I hated it. It can only be turned off by going into the vehicle settings button, scrolling down, and flicking the switch. IT TURNS BACK ON WHEN YOU RESTART THE CAR. This looks like something that can be changed with a software update if enough people complain about it, but in this regard I think Subaru will ignore the will of its customers. I would complain less if the specific control to turn off stop/start could be placed on the first screen of the infotainment menu (maybe this IS possible, but I don't think so). 2. Accessing the USB ports below the infotainment screen is extremely difficult. I tried plugging in a small USB drive (with my music) and a cable into the two ports, and the opening is very small and awkwardly shaped. I could NOT fit my hand in there. I'm not overstating this point. I played a lot with the adaptive cruise and lane centering during my test drive. They worked superbly. There is an awesome vehicle setting that allows you to tune the aggressiveness by which the adaptive cruise reverts to its saved speed after slowing down. With the turbo engine, I think this will be fantastic. When you use the lane centering, there are a lot of indicator lights and beeps inside the cockpit that I will need to become familiar with. The feature that scans the driver's face and remembers that driver's preferred vehicle settings is very cool but I didn't have a chance to test it. The mileage during my test drive seemed to well exceed the EPA estimate. I reset the MPG calculator while I was on the freeway. Drove it for about 10-15 minutes (around 70MPH?); when I left the freeway the calculated MPG was around 40MPG. Is this consistent with anyone's experience, or does the car tend to overstate one's mileage? No car is perfect, unfortunately. I do wish it was quieter, and I wish I could permanently disable start/stop. But I was sufficiently impressed after my test drive that the Legacy is still at the top of my list to replace my Lincoln. I DO want to try that turbo engine!
